Bernard D. Friedman has been a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars since 1977 and 1979, respectively.  He is admitted to practice before all State Courts in New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.  He received a B.A. in 1973 from Queens College (C.U.N.Y.) and is a 1976 cum laude graduate of New York Law School.  He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the American Association for Justice, The New York State Trial Lawyers Association, The New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Association of Trial Lawyers of New Jersey.  Mr. Friedman has a Martindale Hubbell rating of AV.  He has been named by Thomson Reuters as a New York Super Lawyer for 2010-2016 in the field of Maritime Personal Injury.  The selection methodology includes a statewide nomination process, followed by peer review by practice area and independent research.  The resulting list of Super Lawyers represents the top 5% of the attorneys in New York City.  He also has been selected by his peers as one of The Best Lawyers in America and Best Lawyers in New York City in the field of admiralty and maritime law. 

John P. James has been a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars since 1980 and 1986, respectively.  He is admitted to practice before all State Courts in New York and New Jersey as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, the District of Connecticut, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.  He received a B.A. with honors from the University of Connecticut in 1971 and is a 1979 cum laude graduate of Western New England College School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.  Mr. James is a frequent lecturer on the law of maritime personal injuries and serves as a mediator in maritime personal injury cases.  He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the American Association for Justice and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.  Mr. James has a Martindale Hubbell rating of AV.

Andrew V. Buchsbaum has been a member of the New York and New Jersey Bars since 1986.  He is admitted to practice before all State Courts in New York and New Jersey as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Western and Northern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Second and Fourth Circuits.  Mr. Buchsbaum received a B.S., magna cum laude in 1982 from Duke University and a J.D. in 1985, cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law.  He was Editor-in-Chief of The Maritime Lawyer (now the Tulane Maritime Law Journal).  He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the New York State Trial Lawyer’s Association and the Association of Trial Lawyer’s of New Jersey.  He also has significant experience with employment agreements, corporate representation and litigation.  Mr. Buchsbaum has a Martindale Hubbell rating of AV.
